So you've decided you'd love a wedding away. Great! But now what? Fortunately we're here to help you every step of the way. Here's a quick overview of what to expect.

When and Where

We will work with you to decide your location and timeframe based on your needs as well as the needs of your group. We will discuss your budget, Early Booking Bonuses, complimentary seats, etc.

Legal vs Symbolic Ceremony

Most wedding couples decide to get the legalities of the wedding done prior to the trip. This means getting married legally in Canada and having a symbolic ceremony and celebration while on vacation. This saves you the hassle of foreign language paperwork before you travel. In some instances, it avoids the need to have bloodwork done. Often, symbolic weddings are cheaper and less restrictive. We would be happy to discuss what option is right for you.

Why not include your website address in your wedding invitations? That way, all your guests are up to speed and we can resolve any further they may have questions for you.

Reserve Your Wedding Day

We work with the wedding coordinator at your selected resort to decide your wedding day and time. You will be advised of a payment schedule at this stage. The wedding coordinator will help you plan the details to make your day perfect.

Book it!

Airplane seats and hotel rooms are reserved by us. A contract is signed between the wedding couple and Murdoch Travel. We will reserve seats and rooms for up to thirty people. The tour operator requires both the bride and the groom to pay a $200 non-refundable deposit.*

*Your group will be advised of a slightly earlier due date to accommodate those individuals who are deadline challenged.

Share the news

A complimentary, password protected web page will be built for you. This allows you to share all the details about your big day (Click here for more details). From this page your guests will fill out a booking form and are instructed to call us with payment information.

They are required to submit a $150 per person non-refundable deposit (plus the cost of any optional insurance coverages they accept). Then we can set up a Payment Plan with your guests, if requested (See Money Matters for more details).

The Home Stretch

Before final payment is due, a reminder email will be sent to your guests. We accept major credit cards, cash or email money transfer. Please note that we do not accept debit.

Documents

Around a month before departure, your travel documents will be available. We will make arrangements with your guests so that they receive their documents.

Time to Travel!

Jet off to your selected destination. The wedding coordinator will meet with you shortly after your arrival at the resort to go over any last minute details.

The Big Day!

This is what you’ve been waiting for. Enjoy yourself and have a wonderful time!
